From Small Town to Mastery: My journey begins in a small, town in rural Mississippi, marked by common challenges of poverty and limited resources. Raised by my resilient single black mother, I was immersed in an environment where the principles of alchemy- turning hardship into strength- were not just virtues but necessities. This background, a blend of humble beginnings and community strength, set the stage for my future endeavors. Facing these everyday challenges, I developed a deep understanding of the value of knowledge, paving the way for a path filled with academic and professional triumphs.

Family Influence and a Passion for Learning: In a home brimming with books, my passion for learning was kindled. My mother, a dedicated pharmacy technician and massage therapist, instilled in me a deep appreciation for health, wellness, and the power of healing.

Educational Triumphs Against All Odds: Despite attending all-black schools in an under-resourced educational system, I emerged as an all “A” student. Facing perceptions of being underprepared compared to the national average, I took on university-level courses, particularly in advanced math and sciences, with determination. My academic path led me to become one of the first black Doctors of Pharmacy (PharmD) from my hometown. Alongside my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biological Science and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), my ongoing studies in pharmaceutics, cosmetic chemistry, makeup artistry, and herbal medicine formulations reflect my commitment to continual growth and learning.

A Non-Traditional Path in Pharmacy: After earning my academic degrees, I ventured into the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industries. There, I specialized in pharmaceutical formulation science, diverging from traditional pharmacy paths to explore innovative realms in beauty and health. This choice has granted me the opportunity to combine to precision of a scientist with the creativity of an artist, enhancing my ability to discern and select the finest offerings for Aesthetix Co.
